Blinded By Anger

Why Donald Trump? I can answer that in two words: Blinding anger!

There is an incredible blinding anger from the electorate. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. We are so angry about what has happened to our nation in the last few election cycles that some are letting their anger get in the way of common sense. Everyone is so angry they will choose anyone that doesn't represent someone from the political sphere.

Further, there are many in the electorate that think Trump can't be bought. That is appealing to those who distrust the government and have disdain for those who seem to be career oriented politicians. But they forget, Trump might not be able to be bought, but he can buy anyone or anything he desires and thereby distort the election process in the same way as those who can be bought.

Moment of Silence for Justice Scalia
Donald Trump is not a Christian, and in fact, has at times even mocked Christians and Christianity. He once said he does not need to ask forgiveness. So why there are so many Christians falling for his mantra is a mystery. Why they will settle for his foul language and belligerent, hateful comments is beyond me. Can you imagine having a President where we would have to ask our kids to leave the room when the President of the United States was speaking? That is shameful. Talk about digression.  I believe for a Christian to support Trump, their anger must be so great that it has blinded them to who Trump really is and for what he really stands.

He is not conservative and has never been conservative. He has supported abortion and partial birth abortion in the past. He has given money to liberal Socialist Democrats and the Democrat Party. He bashes President Bush and blames him for 9/11. Really? That right there tells you how he will handle our enemy - "What enemy?" He is arrogant, flippant, and rude. He gives no grounded solutions that contain any actual plans, rather he only spews superficial rhetoric about the things that he thinks he will do.

Now I certainly believe anyone can change. And I love to support those with a sincere desire to become a better person and change behavior accordingly. But we have seen none of this from the Donald. In fact, the opposite is true. The latest debate gives us a clear perspective of who Donald Trump really is and who he has always been. He turned the whole thing into a Democrat's "field of dreams". Remember when your folks told you, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. That is exactly what happened at this debate. Whereas iron sharpens iron, and makes one better, rottenness rots to the core.

We are all far worse off with Donald Trump entering the political arena. He has turned the entire process into a 3 ring circus filled with debauchery and hate.

Why Christians, Tea Party patriots and conservatives have endorsed Trump is actually pretty simple to figure out. They are enraged with anger and have bought into the lie that our government is evil. Our government is not evil. It is a God-ordained office of which God expects us to be good stewards. Administrations can be evil...and that is with whom we should take our fight. But Donald Trump is not the honorable leader we need to lead us into that battle.

Trump represents the degradation of our society. When we accepted Rosanne Barr in our comedy, it is only natural we would eventually accept someone like Donald Trump in our Presidency.

Wake up America! Especially you, Christian!

The Star Spangled Banner

Lady Gaga at Super Bowl 50 singing the National Anthem

No words needed.

Ok, so maybe a few words ARE needed. I absolutely know nothing about Lady Gaga. I had never heard her sing before, until she sang at the Super Bowl. I know nothing about a message or agenda she may represent.

There were a lot of posts on Facebook from conservative sources commending her performance. So I was encouraged to watch. I read the statement she made concerning her performance. It was extremely heartfelt and appropriate.

I also had heard about the disgusting, racist performance by BeyoncĂ© at Super Bowl 50. I wanted to counter that with something more appropriate and refreshing - to demonstrate the difference in two performances at one event. I wanted to lend support to someone when they do something right, as opposed to giving more attention to someone with an opposite message of hate - BeyoncĂ©

I had also heard she was trying to clean up her act. I don't even know what her act was/is. All I know is I am for anyone trying to clean up their act. And I don't believe I have ever heard a more flawless performance of our beautiful National anthem. So I shared it here. Sorry if that offends you.
