National Defense
Paul has stated that he believes Iran should be allowed to have nuclear weapons comparing it to the former Soviet Union. Frightening! This is a very out of touch comment by Paul who refuses to acknowledge that we have an enemy in radical Islam. Iran has long maintained the "US is the big Satan" and "Israel is the little Satan." Iran's plan is to do away with both nations. Paul loves to say that there are other nations that have nuclear weapons and we took no action against them even though they were our enemies. What he fails to see is, those other nations understood those weapons were only to be used for their own defense; more appropriately that they would be used to intimidate. Iran has stated unequivocally that they intend to use them!
Paul would cut spending on our National Defense, leaving our military weak and our nation at risk. What about "Peace through Strength"? Our National Defense budget around 30 years ago was at 60% of our spending. It is now at 17% and Paul wants to cut it even further. That, my friend, is insanity.
