"MAN-UP!"

I took the comments below from the Facebook page of Congressman Jeff Duncan (Republican, South Carolina). He caught my attention when he questioned Hillary Clinton, yesterday, during the hearings on Benghazi. He was one of the few that really seemed to be seeking truth.  He was the one that stood up to Hillary’s rant to Senator Ron Johnson who had cornered her with a question she didn’t like. It spoke to the motivation of the attacks and was one of the most important questions of the hearings. “Four Americans are dead!” She yelled at Senator Johnson, “What difference does it make, now?”

Really?? Oh my goodness!! I couldn’t help but yell at the screen, “Because you lied to the American people, you idiot!!” Yeah, I know; real mature. But are we going to ever trust an administration that lies and makes up excuses that, in effect, cover for terrorists and once again makes America the villain!

When it was time for the House to question her, Congressman Duncan, handled it much better than I did. I am so glad he didn’t let her get away with that outburst, because unless I missed it, it seemed it wasn’t answered in the Senate. Please take a moment to watch the video below as Jeff Duncan calls Clinton to face the truth.

Duncan responds to Clinton's rant.

Then please read Congressman Duncan’s “Ramblings” below. We really need to support Christian politicians like this.  We need to listen to his message. My goodness, he’s one of the few that even still knows Biblical should be capitalized! ;-)

You know, when we are dissatisfied with America and we start bashing America; or when we simply give up, we are in effect joining forces with those that want to destroy America. We have the best system in the world! We need to work within that system to effect the change we desire. Get to work, America! We are the government!

I know he isn’t from our state, but you can “like” his Facebook page, or write him a letter of encouragement. Get behind politicians that understand and believe in America. There should be a huge "red flag" for us when a politician only criticizes and then acts like he is the only one with the answer. "We the people" are the government and a return to Godly principles is the answer. We need to show support when someone finally does the right thing. Numbers speak volumes. “Atta-boys” encourage. Jeff Duncan is right; it’s time to “man-up”! And I would add...it’s time to kneel down.

Ramblings:

I want Americans to feel good about their government again.

I want Americans to feel good about their country again.

We need to get through these trying issues. We have four years with a President who's team has said that their mission is to destroy the Republican Party.

A real leader wouldn't have any of that.

A real leader would inspire us to be the best we can be, reaching for the stars and hoping to achieve the American Dream - and, that Dream is not having someone else take care of you. It isn't the welfare or nanny state ..... It isn't.

We all have to work hard and contribute, not tear down. Not envy or covet. Not spray paint a message or occupy something because you feel slighted.

I am sorry. But I believe in ALL Americans. I do believe in safety nets and a helping hand up. Not a perpetual hand out.

I believe that our Founders just wanted us to have a land of opportunity - not oppression and taxation so that someone else can spend the fruits of our labor.

I believe in being Conservative when we are spending other people's money and I believe in being liberal / generous with our own - by giving to charity, church and the needy. With our money and time.

Taxation beyond what is necessary to carry out the Constitutional functions of government is theft. There is no other way to put it. So what if past Congresses have passed the legislation to create things that are more than Constitutional functions for Government. That doesn't make it right.

The challenge is a path to get back to that point without creating so much mayhem that the Republic falls apart.

We can start by devolving some functions back to the States that historically handled those areas.

We can get our budgeting done and phase out of deficit spending. We can lessen the regulations so that businesses don't feel threatened by the government and feel confident in hiring again.

Good policies grow the economy, expand GDP and create, by simple nature, more revenues without the need to raise taxes. We can tell the world that the playing field will level with regard to trade or we won't trade with you.

We can tell the nations in the world that they will have to learn to get by without a lot of US aid, especially those who haven't helped us to secure American and world freedom.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.

We have to put aside political correctness and put forth Biblical correctness.

We have to realize that prayer in school or at a sporting event or before a Council meeting doesn't violate the 1st Amendment rights of anyone. Just because a school gets some federal dollars doesn't mean that the federal government is establishing a religious institution.

You don't want to pray or listen to the prayer offered that reflects the majority values of that particular community, then put your ear buds in and turn the iPod up until it is over.

Our Nation is at a pivotal crossroads, America. We believe in freedom. It is time we "man-up" so to speak and begin having a serious conversation about our future ---- if we want a future.

It Figures!

This President continues to send quiet, subtle messages that he is not a true supporter of Israel. Though he may make an appropriate statement when conditions force him, his actions continue to tell another story.

The President's recent appointment of former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense is yet another example of the incompetency of this administration, or the intentional disregard of our beloved ally, Israel.

Beside the fact that Senator Hagel has no experience in handling a bureaucracy as large as the Defense Department, he doesn't seem to be on the right side of any issue concerning the office to which he is appointed. He also seems to have a habit of making comments that offend a number of Jewish organizations, and though apologies would be appropriate, Hagel has never retracted his statements.

Senator Hagel seems to have no understanding of the danger in "befriending" Iran, as he has stated on a number of occasions that we should have “direct, unconditional, and comprehensive talks with the Government of Iran.”  Neither does he seem concerned with the fact that Iran could get nuclear weapons at any moment. Sound familiar?  Hagel is one of those Republicans that simply seems to have problems being a true Republican, becoming increasingly liberal as he moved forward in his career. As I look back on his career, it appears to me that he is inconsistent in his values. But let me get back to Iran. He also has a record showing opposition to imposing sanctions on Iran. Let me list some other examples of concern:
  • Hagel was only one of two senators to vote "no" on the Iran/Libya Sanctions Act in 2001.
  • Hagel, with only 12 other Senators in 2006, would not support efforts to declare Hezbollah a terrorist organization. (To me, that is a shocking number of US Senators considering Hezbollah IS a terrorist organization.)
  • Hagel has also called for talks with Hamas who has from the onset called for the destruction of Israel. Right! Like talking with terrorists is reasonable.
  • In 2000, Chuck Hagel was one of only 4 Senators who refused to sign a letter drafted in the Senate pledging support of Israel.
I'm sure there are more examples, but you get the idea. Now, Hagel promises to follow Obama's position on Middle Eastern policy.  Like that's comforting!  As I said earlier, Obama's actions are anything but supportive of Israel, regardless of his words.

I learned a LONG TIME AGO to look at those that may be behind the efforts showing support of any particular issue or candidate. This will help one understand the positions a candidate has taken in the past or will take in the future. From where they have accepted money, will more likely than not reveal where their allegiance will be. Well, one of Hagel's strongest supporters is Stephen Walt author of an anti-Israel book that seeks to oppose Israel and AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). I am not going to plug Walt's book by inserting a name, but Mr. Walt in a recent effort to show support for the nomination of Hagel, continues to make derogatory statements about Israel and Prime Minister Bibi Nentanyahu.

While Hagel was Senator, he was well known to be on the opposite side of much of the Republican platform. He was probably more of a "dove" on issues of defense than even some democrats. He opposed the Iraq war, and he voted against President Bush’s 2007 troop surge in Iraq, which proved to be very successful at the time and clearly needed. With seemingly no concern for a strong national defense as President Reagan advocated, Hagel has long stated he believes large defense cuts are necessary.

So in conclusion, though Hagel is well-known for his opposition to our support of Israel, as well as his being weak on defense, this is the man selected for our Secretary of Defense? Even the current Secretary - the liberal Leon Panetta - in his position at the Pentagon is opposed to defense cuts.

One must ask: Why with everything else the President has to deal with right now - the gun issue; immigration; fall out from the "fiscal cliff" - why would he choose to pick up a battle such as the nomination of Chuck Hagel, when it is something that could be avoided.  I believe it is because he loves these little, subtle statements that in reality display his true lack of concern for Israel, as well as his lack of support for a strong national defense.

Pundits and politicians are said to be baffled by President Obamba's choice of Chuck Hagel as Seceretary of Defense. I don't think it is baffling at all; I think it sends a clear statement - one in which Obama hoped to send to those that are paying attention...those that are concerned about our National Security, and those that are concerned about the situation in the Middle East; none more important than Israel.

Here's hoping the confirmation hearings reveal truth...and that those listening, remain strong. We now stand the chance of having a man who doesn't believe in a strong defense at the helm of our Defense Department.  It figures....

Taking More Action

Below is a link to the National Rifle Association website, which will allow you to write our government officials in regard to protecting our 2nd Amendment. At the forefront, is the "assault weapons" ban with which Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and many others are threatening United States citizens.  Please take the time to sign the pre-written letter addressed to the President, Vice President, and our State Senators and Representatives. It can't be any more simple.

Also, below the NRA link is a letter written by former United States Marine, Cpl. Joshua Boston in response to the promised gun ban by Senator Feinstein. His letter has gone viral on the web. When you read it, you will understand why.

CPL. JOSHUA BOSTON'S LETTER

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime.

You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

Take Action

The hypocrisy we see in regard to the "Fast and Furious" issue is outrageous. We should demand answers. We need to see justice.  Eric Holder should be held accountable.
