More Calls Needed

Please read below the most recent letter from Senator Rick Santorum. He is reminding us to call our senators one more time before the vote to confirm Senator Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense.

Also, read below a letter I scanned and uploaded from Idaho Senator James Risch in regard to the confirmation of Chuck Hagel.  He makes no promises; only that: "...I have a constitutional advice-and-consent role on those President Obama nominates.  This is an obligation I take seriously."

And well he should. He needs a few phone calls to remind him of what his constituents would like him to do.

We have more than a few senators - John McCain, case-in-point - that say though they highly disapprove of Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense, "elections have consequences" and that the President has a right to choose who he likes for the positions needed.  While this is true, they are forgetting what Senator Risch said above... "[Senators] have a constitutional advice-and-consent role of those President Obama nominates."

That they do; they have a vote.  It is our job to remind them.  Even if you have already done so, please call one more time. Simply call 202-224-3121 and tell them you wish to leave a message for your senators.  Whether they connect you to your senators office (in Idaho, Crapo and Risch) or whether they take the message themselves, simply tell them:  "For the security of our nation, please vote no for Senator Hagel as Secretary of Defense."

From Senator Santorum

We are nearing the finish line in our efforts to stop the nomination of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense. The final hurdle is scheduled for Tuesday, when the Senate will vote to end debate and move on to final passage of Hagel's nomination. I urge you to make one more call to your U.S. Senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them to vote "no" on Hagel to protect our national security.

Hagel's record is one of being tolerant to the Iranian government and organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah, and he has shunned our closest ally in the Middle East, Israel.
His views on the U.S. - Israel relationship are so disturbing that Maryland Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin's rabbi made the statement in a sermon, "From our perspective, outside of Pat Buchanan and Al Sharpton, I can't think of a worse choice!"

Senator Chuck Hagel is the wrong choice for Secretary of Defense because he would send a dangerous signal to Iran and other radical Islamic elements which would make our country and our allies less secure.

Senator Hagel has not made it clear to Iranian leaders that he would use strength to prevent them from obtaining nuclear weapons and he disrespects our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel. Senator Hagel has repeatedly sought to distance the United States from Israel and refused to support efforts to end terrorist attacks on Israel.

If the Senate confirms Chuck Hagel, they will be handing our country's defenses over to the most passive and most under-equipped Secretary of Defense our nation has ever seen.
Patriot Voices has already informed millions of Americans on the radical and dangerous policies that Chuck Hagel would bring to the Pentagon. We've gathered tens of thousands of signatures on a petition to send him packing. We've rallied tens of thousands of patriots to demand that their Senators block this nomination.

We've reached the most important moment of this fight. Please go to www.notochuck.com and contact your senators to vote "no" on Hagel's nomination.

Thank you,

Rick Santorum

Subtle Messages

This President loves to send little, subtle messages through certain methods, and actions that might be missed by most citizens, but which hits right between the eyes of his intended target.

Case in point would be his nomination of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense. Now, it is clearly apparent by the confirmation hearings, that Chuck Hagel is distinctly unqualified for the position he was nominated. Further clear, revealed by his voting record during his time in the Senate, he is - as Lindsey Graham recently stated - the most antagonistic senator to our ally, Israel, in the history of our nation.

There can be no other reason Obama nominated Hagel than to send a message to Israel and their leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that we really do not have their best interest in mind. As someone I know recently stated, “Through this nomination, it is like he is literally thumbing his nose at Israel.”  Just to explain the extremity of this nomination, Hagel is a man that believes Iran can be trusted, but Israel cannot.

Another example of the method of sending messages to those Obama hopes to target would be when he left Bibi Netanyahu alone for dinner when this strong Prime Minister of Israel wouldn’t give into Obama’s demands.

Sending fighter jets and tanks to Egypt which is now led by Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamad Morsi would be a not so subtle example of disregard for Israel.

Now I know most of those examples are in regard to our relationship with Israel, but President Obama does this in regard to a lot more than just Israel. The most recent example that I believe Obama chose to target is in regard to two great American heroes.

Recently, we lost a brave American patriot.  Chief Chris Kyle - the most lethal sniper in American history - was gunned down as he tried to help a fellow veteran that suffered from PTSD.  Any comment or degree of honor from our Commander-in-Chief was notably missing. No call to fly flags at half-staff as would be the norm when we have lost someone of this caliber. It is a flat-out shame.  But I believe, without a doubt, it was because Chris Kyle understood the enemy and wasn’t afraid to say so.  Chris Kyle knew where this administration has let us down and wasn’t afraid to acknowledge that. Chief Kyle wasn’t afraid to call an act of treason, exactly what it was.

Kyle’s funeral came and went without a word from this administration.  What I found interesting is a subtle act from Obama that I believe was without a doubt intentional. It was political posturing to make himself look better and take the focus off his negligent action of ignoring Chief Kyle. It was a way to take the attention off of his blatant disregard for this American hero even though it would not go unnoticed by many Americans. It was also a bit of a “thumbing of his nose” to all that Chris Kyle stood for and those that chose to honor him.

With this action, Obama also showed callous disregard to another American hero. Obama chose to present former Army staff sergeant, Clinton Romesha, with the Medal of Honor at the exact day and hour that Kyle’s funeral was scheduled.  And no, I don’t think that was coincidental.  I believe it was intentional, I believe it was selfish, and I believe it sent a silent, subtle message to those that were watching. I believe Obama, in effect, “used” this other fine and worthy hero, Clinton Romesha, for his own methods and gain. By this action, he stole something from each of these extremely brave and honored soldiers.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, if you will. But I have seen this type of action far too often from this leader of our declining nation.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I believe without a doubt Sgt. Romesha deserved to be honored in this manner.  He also deserved his own moment. Due to the President’s past actions and methods, I am simply questioning Obama’s timing. I believe it was a disservice to both Chief Kyle and Sgt Romesha.

A Chance to Defend Israel!

Below is an important message from the American Center for Law and Justice. Please take a moment to sign this petition.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Obama Administration is making a historic mistake.
Last night, in his State of the Union Address, President Obama said that "we cannot presume to dictate" the course of Muslim Brotherhood-led Egypt. Today we received reports the Administration is actually accelerating its delivery of advanced weapons to this radical regime.
We are arming our enemies even as our own military faces draconian budget cuts that will hamper our military readiness for years to come.
The Obama Administration should not reinforce the jihadist Muslim Brotherhood while cutting our own military. It must not give powerful American weapons to a regime led by a man who called Jews the "descendants of apes and pigs."
As our petition numbers grow, more members of Congress are stepping up to defend Israel and restore common sense to our foreign policy. Speak out now.
Sign our Petition to Stop Funding Egypt and Defend Israel.
With Gifted Hands...and Heart
Below is a video of Dr. Ben Carson's speech which he delivered this week at the National Prayer Breakfast with President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. His speech has been getting a lot of media attention. Sean Hannity is one that interviewed Dr. Carson about his speech a few days after the event. Sean's is also an important video worth viewing. You will find The Hannity interview just below the National Prayer Breakfast speech.
I first heard about Dr. Carson many years ago, when he was interviewed on CBN. He is one of the top neurosurgeons in the nation. I was captivated by his story immediately. His story is an incredible miracle of grace and power. It is told in his book, The Big Picture. He also has an incredible testimony in his second book: Gifted Hands.   He may have other books, but the third one that I read by this author, was America the Beautiful. It is a well-written discussion about our blessed nation, as well as some common sense solutions to improve what has gone wrong in recent years.
His amazing story leading to all his accomplishments, and the fact that he is a Christian was probably the reason he was asked to speak at the National Prayer Breakfast. By the look and demeanor of President Obama, I'm sure it wasn't the President's decision that Dr. Carson speak. And Dr. Carson held nothing back though President Obama was on one side of him as he spoke, and Joe Biden was on the other.
The expression on Obama’s face is priceless. One can read by his body language, the disgust he must be feeling as Dr. Carson talks about political correctness, the national debt, as well as the Obama national health care system that is riveted with problems.
Dr. Carson speaks of the folly of expecting one class of people to pay more taxes than another, when we have a clear example laid out for us in the Bible in the way of tithes. He touches on the “dumbing down” of our nation, and how our nation has become a “what can you do for me nation” instead of the "can do" nation that we once were. He explains how our lack of knowledge of our history is one of the fundamental problems that have brought our nation to decline. He reminds us that our founders warned citizens that our nation will fundamentally change when our people become so ignorant that they can be led like sheep to slaughter. Dr. Carson begins his speech with Scripture and constantly uses Scripture to back up his thoughts.
There are many lessons in this speech from the soft spoken man with gifted hands...and heart.
Sean Hannity interviews Dr. Carson regarding his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast:
Speaking of heroes…Yes, we were! The only person that might be a bigger hero than Dr. Carson would be his mama. If nothing else, please listen to the video to hear that moving testimony.
Be Encouraged and Keep Fighting!
Our calls and letters are working! Don't be discouraged! Don't give up!
A message today from former Senator Rick Santorum and Patriot Voices :
On Wednesday, the Senate Armed Services Committee announced that they are postponing the vote on Senator Chuck Hagel's nomination to be Secretary of Defense. This is because of your calls, your emails and your overall opposition to Senator Hagel. You've stood tall and said that Senator Hagel's anti-Israel, pro-Iran mindset are wrong for our country and wrong for this critically important cabinet post. We don't want a Secretary of Defense who won't prevent the Iranians from obtaining nuclear weapons, who disrespects our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel, who called the United States "the world's bully," and who believes the Pentagon should be "pared down." While I am encouraged that the vote on his nomination has been delayed, you can be sure that the Democrats will still try to push this nomination through.
We must keep the pressure on to stop this confirmation. It is too important not to. If you haven't taken action yet, here are three easy ways to do so:
•Go to NoToChuck to send an email to your senators
• Tweet your senators
•Call the capitol switchboard and ask to speak to your senators: 202-224-3121
I will keep you posted as things progress, and ask that you stay with Patriot Voices to keep fighting this dangerous nomination.
All the best,
Rick Santorum
Where is Honor in the Death of a Patriot?
We have lost a great American hero and patriot.
Below is a video update on what happened to Chief Chris Kyle -  Navy Seal and Author of the book American Sniper.
I find it deeply troubling that there have been very few of our leaders who have spoken out about this incident, or who have made a statement to honor Chief Kyle. It has been reported that the liberals/progressives have been tweeting away in manner that is beyond disrespectful. Joining the ranks of the liberal left, we also have Congressman Ron Paul who is one of the few "leaders" that has decided to comment about the tragic death of Chris Kyle.
Paul Tweeted:  "Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense," he tweeted to those who follow him.
It is shameful our leaders don't speak out to honor Chief Kyle. It is even more shameful we have so-called "conservatives" joining the ranks of liberals that denigrate what this American hero did for his country. I guess we can't expect more from the good doctor who said in the debates "we should befriend Iran".
Paul's comment and those comments that are similar are nothing more than saying Kyle got what he deserved. How sad to see the lack of understanding, the lack of willingness to say we have an enemy that should be curtailed. How sad to see there are those that would rather blame America than admit we have an enemy in radical Islam.
But then, Kyle would be the first to defend their right to spew their liberal left ideology.  Yes! I said liberal left!!
